Full Boar

Where is the essence of our wildness: real, protective, intuitive, instinctive, honest adaptive, strong? How many generations until our natural instincts adapt and our survival skill are capable? What are the qualities and losses of being domesticated? Is the food, gadgets, and information we consume worth our well being and health? What qualities have we lost being wild and self-sufficient that are beneficial?

Wild pigs are a fascinating story…they have been in the United States since 1539. Once a domestic swine lives in the wild, morphological changes occur, triggered by epigenetics — a response to their environment and living conditions. They are capable of converting their natural instincts and appearance into that of a wild Boar with long hair and large tusks, in just a few generations. What can we learn from this incredible adaptation?

About Dave LaMure Jr.

Dave LaMure Jr. lives in the Magic Valley of Idaho where the Great Basin meets the southern cliffs of the Snake River. Dave has worked with clay since he was twelve years old. Since that time, he has developed an art uniquely his own from monumental public bronze sculptures to large oil canvases. Dave's innovative style of sculpting vessels is new to the world of clay and bronze. Proof that Sofia Loren awarded him best of show and a kiss, that is a high honor. The fine art of bas-relief, size and detail of each piece is unknown before. Look for a manifestation of feeling, heart, form, movement, composition and value.
