Salmon Man

Specs:

We have a migration on this continent of one species that beats any record…Can you guess what it is?

Last year 2019 Bristol Bay created a record run of sockeye salmon of 56,000,000 fish, that’s 56 million, migrated into those watersheds at about 8 pounds each that is 416,000,000 pounds of fish migrating into those waterways to spawn and die creating incredible nitrates and proteins to fertilize that massive watershed. Does anyone know a bigger migration in the world?

What happened to Idaho's salmon? Redfish Lake, Idaho had so many sockeye in it at one time that they considered a cannery.
My love for Idaho came from being an outdoor enthusiast and river guide.

Take action to rejuvenate this incredible migration of the Columbia basin andromous fish runs that has happened for tens of thousands a critical demise in just a few years and protect those we have.

I do not want to be the generation responsible for having information that we can save these fish runs and in 5 years say we should’ve done that or not done that when it comes to a very nearsighted plan for the pebble mine above Bristol Bay.

About Dave LaMure Jr.

Dave LaMure Jr. lives in the Magic Valley of Idaho where the Great Basin meets the southern cliffs of the Snake River. Dave has worked with clay since he was twelve years old. Since that time, he has developed an art uniquely his own from monumental public bronze sculptures to large oil canvases. Dave's innovative style of sculpting vessels is new to the world of clay and bronze. Proof that Sofia Loren awarded him best of show and a kiss, that is a high honor. The fine art of bas-relief, size and detail of each piece is unknown before. Look for a manifestation of feeling, heart, form, movement, composition and value.
